Question:

Did you try IVIG treatment shortly after Plasmapheresis treatment ? If yes, did it help more then the Plasmapheresis alone ?

I took it as Maintenance treatment only).}

^Woody ^{I received 5 plasmapheresis exchanges in April 2000 which
helped my overcome breathing problems, following which I was put on 100
mg. imuran/day. I was able to discontinue oxygen use and taper off
prednisone, completely by September 2000. I still experienced
chewing/swallowing and slurred speech problems, which I controlled with 1
to 4 timespans/day, as needed. Both the plasmapheresis and the IVIGs I had
have helped equally well. My current neurologist doesn't use
plasmapheresis, because of their experience with excessive incidents of
infections, not experienced with IVIG.}
